Hi All,
Those of you with CUCV's might want to read this.
I was out helping a friend with an electrical problem, then went to go
home. Started up fine, went
about 1 block and died. Wouldn't start again. Starter was ok, fuel was
ok, plenty of battery power.
Darn! Checked the filter and primed it again to get rid of any possible
air. Still no go.
While pulling off the purple wire to do the priming, I thought something
felt loose, but didn't click right away.
Finally my friend that I had been helping came down with a big
flashlight. Ok, which of you guys have this figured out
already?

Well, there is this little solenoid next to the purple wire in the
front, you know the one, it seemed like it was a little loose. On
closer inspection, it was missing a bolt that was used to secure it to
the bracket......That was all it
took to disable the vehicle.

I strongly suggest that you CUCV owners get some locktite and put it
on that tine little bolt. I am sure blessing
my lucky stars that this didn't happen on the freeway, or I might not
have been able to write this.
