get a little thicker skin. Ron's entirely in fun. Yes some of us can go on
and on, myself included, as Ron did, but he is a good hearted fun loving guy
and that was all it was. So I guess Alex has to just get over it. It was a
few laughs that's all, nothing more to be sure. I am sure he has had a
little ribbing in his life, and probably given out plenty too.

He is still very welcome here to ask for help and comment on threads that
come up from time to time, and I am happy that he showed up here too. Tell
him not to run off. Have some fun here and he will find plenty of good
info, but expect a little BS from time to time and just get let it go in one
ear and out the other.

Well,I am not sure where to start. I recommended this
forum to my 14 and 16 year old sons as a way to become acquainted with the
members of the military vehicle family as the progressed on their first
project that was their own. I assured them they would find KIND and GENEROUS
people eager to share their knowledge and encourage young people to pursue
the hobby.( I seem to remember a few people groaning a few years back about
the advancing age of most collectors and that the hobby needs new blood)

Instead when Alex asked for help humbly ,he was greeted by a PUBLIC
browbeating that went on and on ad nauseum. Using caps in an email MAY be a
breach of someones picayune idea of netiquette but I am SURE that the proper
way to reprimand someone is in private, at least that is what they teach at
NCO school,LMET and every business
course I've taken in the last 25 years.
For An adult to do this to a good kid(A+ in English
At Competitive PRIVATE Prep school BTW) trying to fit
in is inexcusable ungentlemanly and does nothing to
bring new blood to the hobby

I am ashamed that it was me who recommended he seek
help here.

                           Tony(ALEX's DAD)

PS. Thanks to those who did try to help. Alex wrote
that note after six-Seven straight hours in the shop
working on his m274a2. He does this most nites after
home work and chores, I am quite proud of his work....
