The best thing to do is convert to manual button on dash to trigger solenoid

and glow plugs. Sounds like the controller card may be bad. This is common
problem on CUCV's and most of us have converted already. Hold button 10-12
seconds warm weather, and 15 -17 seconds winter. I have attached info.

Subject: *SPAM* [MV] CUCV 1009 Glow plug problem
Warning: Mil vehicle question! (sorry, couldn't help that..)
I got a CUVC that developed glow plug issues. It started with
the GPs not coming on regularly. Now if you turn the key to just short of
the on spot the GP light comes on dim and doesn't turn off. When you turn
fully it goes out. If you turn right to the on/run position it doesn't
light at all. It appears that that with the ignition in the on position,
there is 12V at the plugs constantly with GP light off. Apparently one of
the black wires running to the box under the dash burn/broke off. Cleaned
it up and reattached which didn't help anything.
I assume the box under the dash is the controller. Does this sound like it
is smoked? If I am getting 12v at the plugs are they smoked too?
Thanks!
Rick
