Rick,

We have two M1010's in our inventory at the museum that I volunteer at.
They have both been good running, dependable vehicles. They do have a
rather unique electrical system, although we have not had a huge amount
of trouble with that. We did have to replace an electronic device that
has something to do with the battery charging system. They have the same
two battery system that you will find on any other CUCV, but this
electronic device is unique to the M1010. I don't know if the device is
available on the civilian market. We got ours through the military
supply system. With that one exception, I think that everything else on
the vehicle is standard CUCV/GMC, so parts should be easy to find.

Subject: [MV] M1010 Questions

As a new military vehicle enthusiast and a ham radio operator, I am
considering the purchase of an M1010 ambulance. Can anyone indicate what
is a reasonable price to pay for one in "average" condition" What would
be some of the gotcha associated with this vehicle?

Thank you in advance,

Rick Jandrt
