Ref removing the + lead on alternator .
(3) leave it off and see if the battery is flat after a similar length of
time.
IF you try this method of checking for leak back on an alternator , REMEMBER
that this lead is live ALL the time and be VERY careful to insulate it so as
to prevent a short circuit ! Or you will need major repairs after the
ensuing and inevitable fire !
