Re: M101 spacers

Thanks for the info Glenn.

I do push the weight limit though on my M-101 A2 trailer. I've been hauling
loads up to 3,300 lb almost on a monthly basis. I've have not had or
noticed any problems. The only thing I have noticed is the inside wall of
the bias tires will occasionally rub up against the trailer. It seems that
this occurs only when I hit a big bump or hole.

I can probably do just fine with out the spacers since the tire rubbing
seems to be only a minor thing but I thought I would add them to give the
tires more clearance. I have ask a couple of people that if they thought
the spacers would put added stress on the bolt by moving the wheel further
out. I was told as long as it wasn't more than a 1/4 inch I should be fine
but if you or anyone else thinks this would be unsafe, please let me know.

Thanks

Darrell

Hi Darrell
Those spacers are avail from JC Whitney and others for the eight lug
pattern. But they are not rec for heavy weight.

Thinking of trailer parts, does anyone know where I can get a 1/4 inch
spacers for a M-101A2? I have HMMWV tires on my trailer and the tires will
occasionally rub on the body when carrying a very heavy load.

Thanks

Darrell

The numbers for those are: NSN 5306-01-237-6844 P/n 12354223. All my 3/4
trailers have 8 lug split ring rims. Are you saying the M1008 rims will
interchange? I have a shelter dolly that the rims will interchange with the
old jeeps. Wayne
