Hi Jim
That's great news. I would retain the pump that was having problems as a
core for the future when you ever pick up a rebuild. Or just have it
rebuilt in advance with the new Artic pump parts. Then it will be ready for
the new ULS Diesel that is coming out. By turning down the fuel metering
bar adjusting screw you can get the smoke to completely disappear also.
This will give you better mileage also but power will go down slightly. But
don't do it yourself unless you know how. It is a very small adjustment.
Its probable not worth the cost to have a shop do it.
Regards
Glenn

Subject: [MV] smoking 6.2 update
Update from the smoking 6.2 in the CUCV.
I re-installed the injection pump that came with my
engine as removed from the M998 series truck.
The left side smoking seemed to go away. I let it
warm up and it seems fine now.
I was not able to drive it due to darkness but I'm
going to get it on the road in the AM for a test run.
It has a very small amount of smoke out both stacks
when you pounce on the throttle which is normal 6.2
exhaust.
