mil-Veh gun mount part question

Friend bought a mil-veh and it had part of the former owners gun mount
part still in it. Former owner had "engineered" a post mount type setup
for a .50 cal.
The part is, as best as I can describe, what goes on top of the post
between it & the gun itself. About 6" tall, cast metal, and has an
approx. 1/2" pin through the center ( of the part, pin location is
actually just on one side) of it where it might hold the pintle of the
gun from up & down motion. Also in one side is another T-handled
threaded pin that appears to "tighten" the pintle for restricting its
movement left & right. A third pin is at the "back" of the top portion
for what I believe would be part of the gun itself or a bar to keep it
steady during driving.
Sorry for the long explanation, but I know there were SEVERAL different
types & any info might be helpful in identifying it.
Like I said, this belongs to a freind. He has NO intention of putting
this on his vehicle, but WOULD be interested in selling it for "fair
market value" to anyone who wants it for their mil-veh. I will TRY (
tough without the teenager to tell me how it works) to take a pic with
the camera & send it out to inquiring parties.
Thanks, Steve
