Depends on the mail servers. If I didn't care at
all about my job, I guarantee that I could get my
servers at CNN to overload their mail servers. Of
course the corporate IT guys that handle our
incoming mail servers would probably complain a
bit.
We've had the FBI tell us about DOS (Denial of
Service) attacks months after the fact. We go
looking at graphs and the little bump on the side
of the mountain that is our normal traffic is the
DOS attack.
