I have had success by buying a small push-on/push-off appliance switch from
the hardware store. The kind that fits into a 0.5" hole, for instance in a
table lamp, and that has a pair of 6" pigtail wires already attached. I
drilled right into the lens of the cab light, and wired the switch in series
with the wire going to the socket. Hope this helps.
