Do yourself and your 1008 a favor and buy a set of group 31 commercial truck
batteries instead of 6TL's. Here's why: All the CUCV's came originally
from Chevrolet with 31's; lighter in weight - won't cause the right inner
fenders to crack as readily; fit into battery boxes perfectly - govt. specs
required that both 31's and 6 TL/TN's be accomadated for supply reasons
hence the dual pattern battery trays/holddowns; greater battery starting
power - just what a cold diesel needs and gives you Maintenance-Free or low
maintenance batteries of more modern design than the 6TL/TN's Robert
