Pressure on the non-hardened exhaust valve seats and increased wear. It was also used as an anti-knock compound but there are other ways of preventing knock now though use of increased octane/RON additives. Running the chorehorse in a camp with lead additives might not be such a good idea as the lead additives will get on other people and increase their lead exposure in readily absorbable ways.
