To the list,
The gun is a towed WW11 A/A weapon and belongs to Leo Porter who owns
Midway Surplus ( " the JUNKYARD " ). It sits in his yard on Beltline Road
just south of US 183. I tried to buy it some years ago. NO JOY! Leo was
firm. " Not For Sale " At one time Leo had more halftracks, DUKWs and
GPAs than anyone else in the U.S. Maybe he has changed his mind by now.
At any rate the weapon is rusty and missing many pieces BUT it would
really look neat behind a CCKW or hi-speed tractor if it was cleaned up
for display. Probably reported by a " pilgrim " with no brain. One look
by anyone with any sense would know the thing would be more of a hazard
to the crew if fired than to anyone else!
Wishing I had it,
