Scrap Yard Jeep

I cleared away some (but not nearly all) of the junk attached to the Jeep this evening. It's starting to look more like a WWII jeep.

I haven't had the energy to fire up the sand-blaster to clean up the frame to see if there is a serial number in the usual GPW location. this jeep has the Ford script on the back of the tub. I did find two holes on the frame horn reenforcement that were undoubtedly for a Willys vehicle ID number tag but they look virgin, like they never had anything in them.

As we all know, early on "MB" style frames were delivered to both Willys and Ford and only later did Ford have their own, distinctive frame.

What is not clear to me is if MB style frames were delivered to Ford and Willys with or without the two little holes for affixing the Willys VIN tag. Does anybody know?

The jeep has an interesting tag affixed to the dash (glove box door is completely gone). The tag indicates the jeep was refurbished by Moore Company, Modesto, California in 1945. Does anyone have any background information as to how this might have come about?

Regards,
TJ
