The collection was owned personaly by A.F.Budge. When one of the main
Budge Companies went bust, the receiver took control of some of the
collection. A.F.Budge bought all the cream of the collection back off
the receiver. Some of the best of the remainder has been bought by Rex
and Rod Cadman in Kent. At last years IMPS Beltring show there were
several Soviet as well as Russian amphib's, including a 1944 Soviet
amphib bought in Latvia and driven accross Europe to the show in Kent
from Germany (in a small convoy of Soviet vehicles with all crews
dressed in Soviet uniforms, they are coming again to the show this
month). There are also OT's booked in again this year.
Not all the vehicles and equipment seen at Budge's was their own. The
'Mig 15', aircraft we imported we had delivered to the Budge
establishment, where I unpacked them inside their large undercover
facilities. I think also much of the Soviet equipmentprobably belonged
to Preston Isaacs. Budge has had his 'Scud Missile and launcher', out
around shows over the last couple of years. The Budge established
'Ryton Arms Company', is still also very much alive and well.
