I have a late 1953 USMC M38A1 that I need some help with. It is serial
number 62122, with a hood number of 190356. I belive that it was released
from USMC service in the late 50's from a Southwest US Marine base, possibly
MCAS Yuma. The front bumper and bumperettes were missing when I purchased
it. I want to place correct markings on it but I do not know how the
markings are to be placed and what markings are to be placed on the front
and rear of the vehicle (for example, 32 over 2100 on the left bumperette
and a 2121 in a diamond on the right). I would like to place the markings
of either a unique or famous unit on it, so I would like info on the unit
and its history, if I could. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
