It has been my experirence that the DRMO does not keep track of individual
serial numbers, especially for "scrap" vehicles. The information is kept by
the NSN (national stock number), or turn in document number (WTID). They
usually lump a bunch together on one document. For DOT approved vehicles
(civilian type), they keep VIN info, and will give you the military
equivelent to the title.
