HOUSE RULES
Do not post off-topic messages, do not quote extensively from a
previous post, and most definitely do not quote a previous post in
its entirety and merely add a couple of words of comment. Edit the
previous poster's message to the absolute minimum necessary to
indicate the topic and then add your comments. And don't forget to
write a descriptive Subject header for your message.
By default, replies are directed to the original poster. There is
a reason for this. Be sure to post only appropriate messages to the
list.
Please do not send mail to the lists with a Read Receipt requested.
It generates unnecessary traffic and is considered quite rude by
some.
Postings of a commercial nature are a delicate matter. If you are
an individual and wish to buy or sell something that relates
specifically to a list's charter, your message will probably be
acceptable. If you represent a company, send a message to
<postmaster@skylee.com> with a copy of your message attached and
the list admin will determine the appropriateness of the post.
Please do not forward error messages (user unknown, host unknown,
connection timed out, etc.) to the list. If private e-mail you send
to a member bounces and your reply is of general interest, feel
free to forward the message to the list with an explanation: "My
mail to the original poster bounced so I am sending this to the
list" and then forward your original message. You might perhaps
also send the bounce headers to postmaster@skylee.com, but it isn't
necessary as we'll probably have received a bounce by then, too).
Unless it is specifically in the list's charter, do not post messages
in MIME format, do not post messages in NeXTmail format, and do not
post HTML code. Keep your messages in plain text, as that is the
common denominator across PC, Mac, and UNIX platforms. Note that
some browsers may be configured to forward a copy of a web page (as
an "attachment") if you open a new mail message while examining
that page. Please don't do this.
Unless it is specifically in the list's charter, do not post binaries.
If you have image files you'd like to share with the group, post a
pointer to them, either an ftp site or a URL, or offer to e-mail
them individually to people who are interested.
Keep on top of your mailbox and e-mail address. The first time mail
to you bounces, we may unsubscribe you. The second time mail to you
bounces, we will unsubscribe you. It is your responsibility to make
sure that your e-mail address is valid and that you have enough
disk space to accept messages. Some of the lists are archived for
access over the web, and if you think you may have missed some list
traffic, check the archives.
Finally, do not post personal attacks (if for some reason you feel
compelled to flame someone, take it to private e-mail).
We reserve the right to unsubscribe you if you violate these
courteous, common sense rules, or for no apparent reason whatsoever.
That said, these lists are for your enjoyment. We run them as a
service to the Internet community.
To reduce spam and drive-by postings, only mail sent from an e-mail
address that is a member of the list may post to it, so be aware
of what e-mail address you are using.
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR SUBSCRIBED ADDRESS
To change your address, you must first UNSUBSCRIBE your old address
and then SUBSCRIBE your new address. Follow this two-step process:
1) Unsubscribe your old address by sending a message from your *old*
account to <mil-veh-request@skylee.com> with the single word
UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the message. Do not put anything else
in the message. Leave the Subject blank.
2) Subscribe your new address by sending a message from your *new*
account to <mil-veh-request@skylee.com> with the single word SUBSCRIBE
in the body of the message. Do not put anything else in the message.
Leave the Subject blank.
HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE
You can leave the list by using the Unsubscribe button at
<http://www.skylee.com/mil-veh.html> or by sending the single word
UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of your message to <mil-veh-request@skylee.com>.
Do not put anything else in the message.
If the web button doesn't work, use the e-mail method to unsubscribe.
If you still need to contact a human, e-mail <postmaster@skylee.com>.
If you are having trouble subscribing or unsubscribing and expect
to receive help, don't simply say "It doesn't work. [Un]Subscribe
me." Forward the error message you are receiving and a clear
explanation of what you want.

[[Admin note: I'm installing a new sendmail now, so skylee will be
down for a short while. With luck, everything will still work when
I bring it back up. --Arthur]]
