Rick -

We have had problems with rust in our M-715, and no floorboards in the two we
just acquired.

Our solution has been to knock all the rust out (making the hole bigger),
sandblast the area around the hole to make sure it is thouroughly clean, weld
a new piece of sheet metal on both sides of the hole, then thoroughly coat
the entire area with an epoxy based primer on both sides.

Since we started doing it this way, we have had zero rust problems. Before
we do a complete repaint of any vehicle, we strip it down to the bare metal
(always taking photos of any numbering or other special oddities we might
find), attack all rust spots, coat with the epoxy primer, then paint.

This works on all vehicles, including the Gama Goat we briefly had.
