The last official word I heard was a letter I read from the DOD regarding
markings on restored vehicles. This was several years ago and I was unable to
find a copy of this letter. The jist of it was, any vehicle not in current
inventory and displaying proper licence plates was ok to mark as the owner
saw fit. Has anyone seen a more current release on the subjest from the
military or DOD? Would be interesting to hear of any problems vehicle owners
have had with the authorities on this subject.
