I agree the Hummer is a great vehicle in its element. I wish the Feds would
release them whole so I could afford to own one. But, at a parade the local
MV club participted in a couple years ago I had the chance to look at mt M37
next to a National Guard Hummer. In the conversation with the Sarge that was
driving it he said inthe woods in our area (Southern Oregon) the M37 was
superior because of wheelbase and width. The Hummer wouldn't come close to
negotiating what a 151 or 37 would on the narrow logging roads around here.
When I asked him about highway travel or over rough or open terrain he said
the Hummer coudn't be beat!! Guess it boils dwn to using the right tool for
the job.
Just my two cents worth.
