I would like to bring up another point so that we may all band together to put
a STOP to all this crushing foolishness. If we plan to have our
congressmen/women change this policy, we need to do it on a larger scale.
I propose that the congress pass a law that mandates that anything that the DOD
or government busy WILL be sold at auction after they are done with UNLESS it
is specifically declared a weapon. If a weapon is part of it (i.e. tank) it
will be demilled and auctioned.
The reason I bring this up is that in the past I was buying surplus gear oil
(GO) from dealers. The mil GO had the ability to absolutely stop leaks. The
local auto parts store owner summised that that maybe it didn't have 'stuff'
in it for limited slip differentials. All I know is that it was incredable how
it would stop leaks. Noneof the dealers have it any more. They won't bid on it.
It has been declared a hazardeous material and thay must jump through hoops etc
to get it. I can go into my auto parts store and buy virtually the same thing,
no questions asked. They think dealers will buy it an then dump it into a
river...? The government now has to pay someone to incinerate it. You tax $$ at
work. Another crazy rule is that imersion heaters must have the donut cut
before leaving the base (Must be a M151). Who the hell would want to spend the
time and gas to cut them up.
