[MV] matching numbers

Here's a few points about matching numbers, etc.

As I've stated before to truly adhere to the definition of "restore" you
must use the original components as much as possible. It may be easier
to buy a rebuilt transmission from a vendor, but you won't be
"restoring" yours.

Also along with depot rebuilds done by the military, some of our jeeps
were in civilian hands for 40 years!! A civilian user (farmer) doesn't
care if the axle shaft he replaces is ford or willys. Also if he went
down to his local surplus yard in 1948 and bought a set of top bows he
didn't care if they were ford or willys either.

I think establishing a data base for all jeep information is a great
idea. It can only help us research and restore what we have. Original
jeeps that have even an original engine in them are getting to be very
few and far between.

and don't forget all of the GPW engines made for generator sets,
welders, etc that don't have a serial number stamped on them!!

also how many jeeps are restored with their original data plate? It's
pretty easy to replace our data plates. I think mine is one of the few
restored jeeps I've seen with the original plates.
