[MV] Digitized GPW photos available

Greetings Folks,

In my continuing efforts to help sell my Father-In-Law's '42 GPW, I've had
some photos digitized via Kodak's PhotoCD service.

The digitization was first rate as far as I'm concerned. I encourage you all
to try it. It's an available option on most Kodak film mailers. However,
it's a little expensive compared to normal photo-processing. I paid $40-ish
dollars to have 12 photos digitized.

I'm planning to put them on a web site soon. Meanwhile, I can e-mail them to
anyone who wants to see them. There are about 8 photos I consider worthwhile,
showing the GPW from several angles, and a couple of shots of the engine.

My Father-In-Law took the photos, so they aren't as oriented towards the
mechanical details as I would have made them.

Anyway, I'd like to hear all your comments about the photos, especially if you
can provide help with some of the authenticity details. (I think we're
supposed to have red spark plug wires, for example.)

I won't post them to the group, because that's apparently not encouraged in
this mailer for bandwidth reasons, but I can e-mail them to anyone easily.
I'll make them available as JPGs in three resolutions. The largest ones are
about 90k each, and the smallest are 10k each. There's a medium resolution
that's about 30k per photo. The originals on the CD in Kodak PhotoCD format
are about 4 megabytes each, and don't look much better than the 90k JPGs.

So think it over, and let me know what resolution you want and which photos
you want to see. Here are the descriptions of the photos:

Left Rear (see where body was hammered smooth. I wish I could show the
"before" picture. There's no bondo on this body.)
Rear
Front (entire vehicle as seen from front left corner)
Left Side (My favorite shot of the group.)
Left Engine (check out the carburetor, fuel pump, water pump, etc.)
Right Engine (air, fuel, oil filters, regulator, generator, etc. wrong color
dist cap?)
Front Grille (detail shot showing script F)
Right Side (not that great a shot)

Of course, there are quite a few parts available. We'd like to sell all the
spares with the vehicle, but if anyone is really desperate for a particular
part, and the price is right, we'll think about C.O.D. to U.S. destinations.

For what it's worth, I'm in the Houston area. The vehicle is stored near
Shreveport, Louisiana.

Lee
