There is a good source for inexpensive remaindered military books that
everybody on the list should be aware of. It's "E.R. Hamilton, Falls
Village, CT 06031-5000". Hamilton publishes a tabloid sized catalog of
remaindered books each month, usually listing about 20 pages of books new to
the catalog. There are sections covering WWII and military books. They do
NOT accept credit cards, charge only $3 for shipping regardless of how many
books are ordered, and generally have prices a bit lower than any other
remainder book seller I know of. Getting on their mailing list requires only
sending a postcard to them.
Hamilton also prints a quarterly (?) catalog, same format, listing new
books at heavy discount. In their current "super sale" catalog just
received, they have two of Hunnicutt's fine tank books listed. "Sheridan,
a History of the American Light Tank" their stock #43244X, lists for $80;
their price is $54.99. "Sherman, a History of the American Medium Tank",
their stock #273543, lists for $95, hamilton's price is $64.95. Also of
interest are #277258, "More Silver Wings, Pinks & Greens: An Expanded Study
of USAS, USAAC & USAAF Uniforms, Wings & Insignia, 1913-45". Published at
$79.95, they sell it for $54.95. and #21826X, "Over There, The American
Soldier in WWI" published at $12.95, selling for $9.06.
Their catalogs also list the usual wide variety of cookbooks, art
books, biographys, history, etc. All in all, a catalog well worth getting.
