This is my first message, as I just found this list yesterday.
I've had an M416 trailer for about 4 years now. It was a basket case when I
bought it ($250): sides bent in, frame twisted, no plugs in the bottom.
I did the body work with come-alongs, sledge-hammers, and a backhoe (that
sheet metal is TOUGH), but the Frame is still twisted. Will I need a frame
jig to fix this, or can anyone recommend a field fix? Are plugs available?
I have all the 24-volt wiring and lights, but it's been converted to
12-volt. It'd take just an hour or so to re-convert, but I need parts for
one of the lights. Are there sources available?
On a different note: I've been reading the archived messages form previous
times. Since there is a civilian Hummer, why is there any need to mangle
ex-GI ones? Are there any structural differences that separate them?
Enough questions for now: I've got more catching up to do. Glad I found
this list, and I am already gathering info on the organizations so that I
can join.
Glad to know there are others out there who enjoy MVs (my favorite are
half-tracks).
