well i finally got my m-43 back in running condition. it seems
that the new condensor i just
put in was faulty. so i replaced it with the old one and the
truck idled perfectly (with the help
of new plugs,points and a rebuilt carb). and now the bad
news.when i took the truck for a spin it
was backfiring and lost power.the generator gauge needle
indicated an overcharge and the
batteries blew their lids off !! i consulted an old general
mechanics book which advised
that a certified electrician look at the regulator. that must
be the black box on the firewall
beside the oil filter(?). so i guess i'll go searching for an
electrician unless any of you folks
know how i could do it myself or whether i should replace the
regulator all together.
