This posting reminded me of a parade I participated in at the local VA
Hosptal several years ago.
I just got my M37 up and running with a fresh coat of OD paint and white
stars. I about the middle of the parade, smiling proudly when an elderly
gentelman waved a cane at me and hollered for me to stop. As soon as I
squeeled to a halt, the fellow opened the passenger door and crawled in the
cab asking if he could ride. I spent the rest of the parade hearing stories
of this gentelman in the cold of Korea and the jungles of Viet Nam. He had
spent many miles in the old M37 and explained with a tear in his eye that he
haden't been in the cab of one since leaving Viet Nam minus one leg. I helped
to remind me why we are so interested in the preservation of this history and
how it helps to honor our veterans. I can scarcely stop at a gas stator store
in the M37 without encountering one who has served our country and the truck
brings back so many memories for them.

Just thought I would add my $.02 worth
