The M1028 and M1028A1 both are rated at 9400GVW. The GM's seemed to have
worked out better in the field than the M880 series. And they were diesels
as opposed to (blah!) gas. The Chevy's also used either the NP205 or NP208,
which are both better cases than the Dodge NP203. The Dodges also were
strictly non-tactictal; didn't even have blackout lighting. All the Chevy's
did.
