if they were, you certainly don't "make a Jeep out of it again" with a
repro body. Folks who do this should stop saying they are "restoring" a
Jeep. We should agree on what to call this phenomenon. I propose
"customizing Jeep shaped vehicles" or "sprucing up a vehicle many people
would mistake for a Jeep". I encourage others to submit their ideas >>

I call it making a jeep salad.
If you are going to use a repro body tub anyway why not use that CJ-2A
frame that you have sitting out back? It's nice and straight and would be
much easier that trying to fix up that kinda bent original one with the front
bumper cut off.
Well, as long as my jeep will never be perfect I might as well put in that
"other" motor and see if I can get a few more mph and mpg out of it. Plus, I
think I'll go with the twelve volt electrical system 'cuz its soooo much
easier to start and get parts for.
Of course, I already decided that I would go with a semi-gloss paint that is
easier to clean than the original looking stuff. The shade they have down at
the hardware store is real close to the original and a lot cheaper. Well,
pretty close anyway.
Oh, man you are not going to belive the sweet deal I found! You can get
7:00/16 tires
down at the base for 10 or 15 bucks a piece!! I almost spent $55.00 ea on
some repro 6:00/16s!! You can hardly tell the difference. Oh, and they ride
better too.
After I get green or brown covers for the bucket seats my brother gave me I
can put it all together and take her for a spin! Should only take a week or
two. Then we can all get together and go for a ride in my RESTORED, ORIGINAL,
WWII ARMY JEEP!!! >>
