You know, this really is a nice thing about the list.
On normal days we get about 10-20 mailings from the list, and then when
someone hits a delicate subject (MVPA's M151 and HUMMER ban, repro
bodies), we at once recieve 40-50 mailings. Seems to me that the list
is a real hit in MV land.
Anyway about the repro bodies, I agree with most guys that the utmost
has to be done to restore the original body, even if it doesn't belong
to the chassis number. I know for myself that it feels a lot better
driving around in a MB/GPW with as many original parts as possible
in it. It may take a lot more blood, sweat and tears to restore the
original body, but in the end you should be more satisfied.
It may not always be possible to restore the body, and you perhaps have
to buy a repro, but then I would at least try to put as many original
body parts into the repro body.
