[MV] How to Restore a Jeep

I've figured out what EVERYONE RESTORING a WWII Jeep MUST DO.

You must first build a time travel machine and travel back to 1943 (insert year of your
jeep or non-jeep here). Ensure the machine is very large because you will need to bring
back a lot of "original" things to have your all original jeep.

While there, buy some 16-18 gauge steel panels. Be sure to get some
vintage 1943 acetelyne and oxygen also. I've heard 1944 is a better
year for acetelyne though. Oh yeah, be sure to take your metal and
flammable gas ration book with you. Don't forget the welding rods (were they
rationed?). You should also pick-up an arc welder too.

While you are back in 1943, you might just want to swing by the Ford
plant and see if they still have any Ford script tires setting around. Even
though a few purist would argue that they aren't appropriate to your
year jeep, Ford might have had a few left that they put on some '43s.
Sure you should get some inner tubes too. Bring back some bottled air
too so you will have "original" air in the tubes.

Of course, you should also bring back a 5000 gallon tanker truck full of
gasoline so everyone in your club can be running around burning "original"
gas too. Since you're getting the gas, you really should pick up a few
barrels of 1943 vintage oil also and brake fluid.

If they are using an original panel, then should they not forego the MIG or TIG welder
and use an arc welder or gas? Really, MIG welders weren't around in the early
forties, right? Lets keep it ALL original.

WHERE THE HELL DOES THIS NONSENSE END. If I want a turbo charged Chevy 454 in my jeep,
it is still a GPW, just highly modified. I am getting very frustrated with everyone
telling me how to rebuild MY jeeps. Just because I don't meet your personal standards,
don't criticize my project. Even with a repro body, it is still a jeep.
