I'm a new boy, and I don't even have a vehicle yet, but I do have some
input to your problem. I would try using a thermostat. I went through the
same thing with race cars. Common sense dictates that with no
thermostat, coolant could flow even better through the gaping hole in the
manifold, unfortunately common sense doesn't apply here. I 've heard lots
of theories on this phenomenon but, none that make any sense. If you are
determined to not use a thermostat; thermostat substitutes are available
from any high performance automotive catalog or store. They resemble big
flat washers. I think Moroso makes them. I hope this helps
