I contacted the base's public affairs office and they do have such a program.
The NY state DEC and other environmental groups were complaining greatly
about the vehicles sitting in wetlands so the base chose to cut off the
armanent and give them to anyone who can use them after a background check. I
was told farmers have first priority, museums and such second, and anyone
else who passes the background check third. They have M48s, M60s, and
Sherridans that readily come up for availability. They are sending me the
paperwork by mail.
