Can any of the MB experts out there help me decide exactly what welds
are where on the tub before I finally weld it together . The spot welds are
fairly staight forward it's the gas/stick ones that have me foxed .
1/ back panel, ends of lower channel section to wheel tubs , weld or not ?
2/ back panel, ends of upper channel section to flange ,weld or not ?
3/ front floor to rear floor step , is step just spot welded to front
floor or "stitch" welded along front edge as well ?
4/ upright thing with three large round holes ,just spot weld to front
floor or what ?
5/ seam between back panel and rear side panel , I know it's got a weld
at the top but what about the bottom ?
6/ what size is the channel section under the rear floor ?
7/ does the weld on the front side go round the corner (to where the rear
corner of the hood would be) or not ?
8/ should the triangular reinforcment pieces be welded to back panel and
wheel tubs or bolted ? all the ones I've seen are welded
but what are the holes for ? should it even have these ?
9/ why are moths so attracted to my computer screen !
10/ I've seen two kinds of rear light seal , one flat and one curved , which
is correct ?
these questions may appear stupid but I've looked carefully at several tubs
and they are all different , if I could find an unrestored one perhaps I could
be sure .At least the under floor stuff tends to be untouched or just not
there at all .
While I'm at it , does anyone have an origional glove box spring ?
