You might want to put some new engine oil in each cylinder now (about a
table spoon) so it can get down the pistons and rings; loosely re-install=
the plugs for safety.
When the other jobs are done and you're ready to try a start just whip th=
e
plugs out, disable the ignition and motor the engine on the starter a few=
times. It'll go round quite fast with no compression and hopefully prime=
the oil pump giving you a reading on the gauge so at least the crankshaft=
bearings are lubed before you put any real load on them.
Expect a fair amount of oil to be sprayed out of the plug holes with some=
force!
Replace the plugs properly, re-instate the ignition and try it for real, =
it
will really, really smoke when it starts make no mistake!
