I'll throw out this pitch again: anybody have any leads on
> anything BRC-40'ish?

Sure, my neighbor has a BRC-40. Here's the catch, he's a welder. Know
what that means, right? Ever hear the saying, "When all you've got is a
hammer, everything looks like a nail"? Well, when you've got a welder,
everything looks like it needs to be reinforced. Each time I see him, he
wants me to come look at some new plating on the frame. I rush right
over.

Did see it once, though. Somehow he has 2 bodies and it's completely
disassembled in his barn. A fender hanging on one wall, a headlight
dangling from the rafters and so on... Right now the space that he needs
to restore it in is occupied by a stack of lumber that is going to be used
to restore the lobster boat. (We're 150 miles inland.) So he has to
restore the lobster boat in order too clear a space to work on the BRC.
He's about 70.

But if you want it, before he gets to it, he figures it's worth 35,000
restored. He figures 5,000 or so to restore it. So he'll take 25,000 and
let you make 5,000 for your trouble. What a guy.

Also, has no A/C, has slotted wheels, etc. He says the A/C is exactly the
same as some little British car (he can't recall the name), except that it
has different writing on top . But he agrees that the slotted rims are
wrong, says they came with combat rims. He has some pix of them with
combat rims but he can't put his hands on them just now.

If I see a red Mustang convertible with blue door jambs go by my house
towing a BRC, I'll wave.

Regards,

JP
