The man you need to talk to is Russ Morgan in Loveland, Colorado. He has
several weasels, also otters and a variety of other MV's. He is a dealer and
also a collector. He has a set of NOS weasel tracks in the crate. He told
me recently that he has worked with an engineer to draw up all of the
plans/details necessary to manufacture the tracks. You can reach him at
(970)669-9099. (Also, he always runs an ad in the Wanted section of Military
Vehicles Magazine looking for Otter (M76) parts).

<< does anybody know of someone who has
seriously contemplated reproducing Weasel tracks or any components thereof?
I
think I've heard of at least three efforts to reproduce tracks - two in the
states and one in Norway. It seems, however, that nobody's actually done
it.
I presume that's because it turns out to be far too expensive due to tooling
costs, but I'd like to find out what people have learned.
Like probably most other new Weasel owners, I'm trying to find a source for
reliable track and I'd love to hear about anybody elses experience. So far,
the solutions seem to be (1) reinforcing an original track with chain or
used
conveyor belting and (2) buying better track, if you can find/afford it.
There
are also nonoriginal post-war tracks manufactured in France and the U.S.
(company by the name of Ambulator, I believe), but I would prefer a set that
is
as close to the originals as possible. They're just about as hard to find
in
operable condition as the originals anyway.
Are there any other ideas out there?
Thanks.
