It seems that this list might need a break for laughter, so here is one
at my expense.

I was having some problems getting full power out of my 4cyl powered M274
Mechanical Mule 'Ruthie.' I had just unloaded it from the gen trailer
and loosly fitted the control basket and steering column to get it off
the trailer. My 'buddy' suggested he ride on the back and check for 'full
throttle operation' while I drove and shifted. OK, off we went up the
hill, lug, lug. Hmmmmmmm. Turned around to go downhill, got into 3rd
gear, going about 30 MPH with 'buddy' giving it full throttle. Hit a bump
and the loose steering column and steering wheel came off the steering
gear box leaving me, shall we say, very surprised!!!!! Said Mule with two
fools on board then proceded to steer itself between a tree and a brand
new $30,000+ Chevy Suburban, with me screaming to tell him to shut it
down and hitting the clutch, the brake and grabbing for the parking
brake!!!!! Skidded about 20 more feet coming to a stop in a flower bed
right in front of an oversized front window. 10 more feet and we could
have watch TV from the living room couch! After it was all over, we
laughed like heck. Next time, of course,we will:

TIGHTEN THE DARN STEERING COLUMN FOOL!!!!!!

STICK WITH ONE DRIVER/OPERATOR!!!!!

WEAR A HELMET!!!!

THINK FIRST.

It turned out to be fouled plug and the accelerator cable did need
adjustment. At least I can say now I LIVED and learned.
Hope this brings a few chuckles. By the way, I usually don't screw up:
well except for the time I rolled a 5000 gallon water wagon, or the time
I got an M48A3 stuck in a rice paddy up to it's turret and then threw a
track or...................
