Another piece of information on driving these trucks. I know of a person
who went to court to fight a ticket because he was driving an M35 without a
Class B License, here in California. The ruling was, if:
1. The vehicle is registered as a historic vehicle.
2. It's used for personal, non-commercial purposes.
3. All insurance requirements are met (obvious)
Then you can drive it with a regular Class C license. I will get the court
number and code if I can for you California drivers. For everyone else, you
may want to check very carefully, as you may not have to go through the
medical and DMV testing. Something else to check is the air brake issue.
Air over hydraulic doesn't constitute air brakes. If the truck has true air
brakes then the Class B (or A) with an air brake sign off may still need to
be done.
Thanks,
Sean

I've noticed the same thing. sigh. I've got an m54 (5-ton), and I
haven't seen much interest either. Surprisingly, because they are
relatively cheap... Insurance was a problem, plus (in california) you
need a special license to even drive the damn thing...
I love my truck anyway!
