Here's the scam, they don't care if your vehicle gets transported or not
as they make money either way. Here's my story. I wanted to transport a
jeep from Yuma, AZ to Reno, NV for about $600.00. I had to sign a
contract and give them a cashiers check for 50% up front, with the
balance due in CASH to the driver.
After several weeks and many phone calls to their 800 number, no jeep.
Seems that they "couldn't find a driver". So I began calling around and
found another company that promised delivery in 5 days if I would put 50%
of $400.00 on my credit card. I figured OK as I could always refuse to
pay the cc bill. The next morning I got a call from the driver asking for
pickup instructions. That afternoon my daughter informed me that the jeep
was on it's' way. At 10 o'clock the next morning the driver called asking
directions to my house, and he accepted my personal check for the balance
due!
I cancelled my contract with the first company with a $98.00 "Service
Charge"! It took about 6 weeks, and many phone calls to to get a check
for the balance of my deposit.
