[MV] Batteries not charging right in M38A1

Hi Guys!
My batteries just took alot of recharging, The left one(CB hooked to
it) even more than the right Generator checked and putting out
28Volts.
Jeep driven almost everyday. Batteries are new Diehards, 5 months
old. Connections are clean. I usually drive with headlights on.
Why isn't the batteries recharging? The batteries did not go
totally dead, just got low. Confused as usual. Stu
