Did I get your attention? This is for those list members who have
expressed interest in obtaining a 6x6, but are not on the DRMS (the DoD
surplus sales agency) mailing list. I just received two DRMS sealed bid
sale catalogs containing HUNDREDS of them, at bases and posts all over
the country. Mostly M35A2s, also quite a few M54s and other five and
ten tonners, M109 shop vans, tank trucks, M109 trailers, a few CUCVs,
and many odd lots of parts and engines. Also a bunch of diesel-electric
locomotives at Hill AFB, UT, for those who want some REALLY HEAVY iron!
Specifics of the sales are:
(1) Sale Number 31-7389; bid opening 0900 EDT, 16 Sep 97; 14 day
inspection period begins (today) 2 Sep 97.
(2) Sale Number 31-7392; bid opening 0900 EDT, 18 Sep 97; 14 day
inspection period begins 4 Sep 97.
You can pull up the on-line versions of the sale catalogs at:
http://www.drms.dla.mil
You will have to dig fairly deeply in their Web site, and what you are
looking for is the sale catalogs which are identified by the sale
numbers above.
I saw one listing for an M35A2 with 0 (zero!) miles, and another with 1
(one) mile! Do I believe that? Hmmm...
These trucks are in lots of one each, so you don't have to buy a fleet
to get one vehicle. Beat the dealers (sorry, dealers), bid YOUR price
and get yourself a truck.
No, I don't work for DRMS.
Good hunting!
