[MV] Armor in Yug

Just in case someone really, really wants an M-18 or anything else out of the Yugoslovia
area, here is a short note from a Canadian Inf. Vet who spent part of 92 over there and
is going back next year.

"The amount of 'vintage' armor in Bosnia is astounding, in '92 I had the dubious honor
of being on the receiving end of what appeared to be an M36 Jackson. Thankfully the
gunner was either drunk or just sending a message, no hits scored, but it was kinda neat
after the fact. We captured a T-34/85 as well but couldn't get it running, so it was
blown in place. At times you would see these old war horses chugging along the roads
with modern tanks like M-84s, pretty wierd. I wouldn't want to be the quartermaster for
that unit, imagine the ammo neede for all those old and new vehicles. Must have been a
nightmare to organize." (end of quote)

Now--------how bad do you want that M-18?
Reading this kind of puts a different slant on the words 'vintage' & 'restored'

This is also a perfect example of how some countries are smart enough to keep their used
equipment instead of dumping it in the ocean to build reefs of crushing them up for
cans.

My apology if this posting strayed to far from the purpose of this page.
