Hello
Not long ago I stopped to look at a WWII 1 1/4 ton 4X4. It has
been pretty well cut up but hopefully someone can tell me what it was.
The front of the cab looks like that of a CCKW. The back of the cab has
been cut off and the windshield frame gone. The box is what makes this
truck different from others i've seen. It was not the cargo style bed. It
has what look to be original fenders like what are on weapons carriers. It
had duels on the back but the fenders did not cover the outside tire.
looks like they were added by the present owner. The truck has been
chopped out of the middle and the back end of the bed and turned into a
winch truck. Some dash plates were still present but the only ones
readable were the transmission and transfer case shift patterns. It had
been painted yellow except for one side of the hood (probably a replacement
part) which has Chevrolet on it. Did GMC make a 1 1/4 to weapons carrier
with a similar body style as the WC Dodge?
