[MV] Armed Jeeps and Trucks

While serving in Vietnam, I had the opportunity to ride on a number of
M151s that were armed with M-60s on a mount in the rear of the jeep. I
can tell you from experience that it was a wet and cold ride for the
most part.

I noticed that units were very creative in mounting firepower on the
backs of M151's, 3/4 ton Dodges and an assortment of 2 1/2 and 5 ton
trucks. The only limiting factor seemed to be the creativity of the
unit's welder and the ability of the unit's supply sgt.

I saw homemade armor made for all classes of trucks manufactured from
everything from 2x8's with sandbags to steel. I have some photos of
these beast perhaps one of these days I will scan them and put them up
on the net....
