I took rickl's suggestion to heart ("Jerry Clevland reads the list
perhaps he could let us know if camping will be made available") and
looked up the 1998 Convention Update notes from the 2/97 MVPA Board of
Directors Meeting. The Co-Chairmen of the Convention, Scott Sebring and
Frank Buck, assured the MVPA Board that "Camping is also available with
shower facilities."
For those who attended the great 1994 MVPA Convention at Fort Indiantown
Gap, the 1998 event at Tobyhanna Army Depot (TAD) will be quite similar
in format: Outdoor vehicle display and swap meet area with indoor
meeting space. The biggest difference will be that there will be NO
billeting in WWII-vintage barracks at TAD.
I met several of the active MIL-VEH List subscribers at the 1997 MVPA
Convention in Memphis including Daryl and Lida Bensinger and it was like
meeting old friends; I look forward to meeting more List subscribers at
TAD in August, 1998.
