Interesting thread! Aircraft instrument shops will not take radioactive
aircraft gauges even for free! A Southern California instrument overhaul
shop that I am familiar with that had been in operation since the forties
had to tear out their plaster walls due to radiation contamination. They
had radioactive gauges on the shelf there for over 40 years that they used
as cores for overhaul.

I don't think that I'd be concerned unless you slept in a roomful of them
though......
