OK, if you have time on your hands- get out your copy of ARMY MOTORS number
59, winter 1992. Inside the front cover is a photo of vehicles of 3rd Armored
Division. In the foreground is a peep of the 83rd recon bn. with what appears
to be a vehicle number of "D 1 1/2". Do you suppose this is G.I. humor, or is
this a legit (maybe within the unit) number? Anyone care to guess what the
actual number would have been? Anyone know how the 1/4 tons in these units
were numbered?
