[MV] MB/GPW toolbox lock

I have seen repro tool box locks advertised in the latest supply line.
The ads refer to a "keeper plate". what is this? Is that the lock
mounting bracket welded in the toolbox? All of my jeeps had the locks
on them and I have never seen this part.
